Ichan Ramen in Kyoto

Almost walked away cause the purchasing, lining up and service was a unique experience. But sticked it out and really enjoyed it. Ramen was delicious 🤘🏻

Despite I had to wait like 20 minutes to enter, I give 5 stars. That waiting time fully worth it. If you are lucky you won't see any queue. Talking about ramen and the experience itself, it is amazing. I think I'll never eat again that quality ramen and broth. Every single time I'll visit Kyoto, I'll also visit Ichiran.

I get why people like it. Its fun to have a little booth to yourself etc. The popularity of this place means you will have to queue up for a while. For me, the food is not worth the wait. There are way better, less famous places to enjoy ramen.

Tasty ramen that you can customise the richness of the broth, hardness of the noodles and even level of garlic and spiciness. There can be a queue bit it moves quickly. You eat in individual booths which allows you to focus on the food. There's an instant ramen option to buy home with you as well. Free unlimited drinking water is available at every booth.

It is an excelent option, we decided to go because we saw a lot of videos of recommendations on the internet, and in deed is a famous restaurant.

The ramen is good, very fast speed and you get good ramen, a bit overpriced but at least it's good. They sell noodle packs you can cook at home which tastes just as good but only cost a fraction.

Always on point. Beat the line by going after hours.

Really nice ramen. It was our first dinner in Japan, we were super tired and jet lagged, but still enjoyed it. There's queue and it may be a bit confusing at first, as you ned to take a ticket and then wait until they call you. It's a place to eat quickly, it's super fast, not for staying there resting. But it was delicious! A truly Japenese experience, I would recommend!

Simple easy service with great tasting ramen. It's fine to go here as a couple, the booths are not too isolating. You can still talk. In terms of legroom, it's not too good for tall people.

Excellent ramen, quick service, cheap (890 for the base, which already includes chasu and green onions). You pick a level of spice, 2 ("medium") was pretty nice for me, as someone unused to spicy food. Can go as high as 10. Open 24 hours, no line as far as I've seen. Absolutely 5/5.

Really interesting Ramen shop, the taste was excellent but the service where you can't see the server's face or your neighbor, because your in an individual booth, was very unique. I waited 20 minutes to get in and it was well worth it. I would say, not a good place to go with small children. However, if you are into Ramen and looking for a unique experience, you must try this place.

Long lineup in this place, but it took us about 20 min to get our table.. You order and pay from the machine and fill out the form for your noodles preferences (hard, medium, soft).Food is good, one of the famous ramen in Japan.

Amazing! Love how customizable it is and that you can be left alone to dine if you want to. There was a line, waited maybe about 15 minutes but it wasn't all that bad and it was to be expected!

One of the best ramen I've ever had, and to top it off, incredible service! The menu is simple, but amazingly tasty and very inexpensive. Highly recommended if you're visiting Kyoto! Just note that they take cash only.

Ramen was delicious! Seating arrangement is unique, but I liked it! We arrived for 3pm and there was only a couple other people. However, this is a very busy spot so be prepared.

Service here is good. Ramen is great and service is fast. A little bit pricey compared to elsewhere, but I guess it is understandable since it’s located at places with tourist. Soup was great and staffs were very attentive to the needs of the people dining there!

We came here at 12am midnight to be super surprised at how great the service still was!Still bustling and service was fast. Staff were friendly and customisation options were super flexible.Vending machines and a little paper note to circle what options you want make the experience smooth.

Firstly, love the fact that you barely have to interact with any other people to get a delicious bowl of ramen.Obviously, like others have said, being an ichiran means that there is a long wait at times, but is worth it in my opinion as long as you aren't too pressed for timeLove the booths and the option to customise your ramen. I understand that you can buy pre-made boxes home and cook it yourself.....but don’t kid yourself, there’s just no substitute for the real thing.

A introverts dreamWhen you arrive you place your order into the machine on the second floor. After you walk to were you are given a paper to fill out if you want extra. You wait to be sent to a empty location.Once you sit down you place your receipt down and there is a person on the other side of the counter but you only see the individuals hands they greet you and take your ticket.The ramen was really awesome it is pork based and it has a heavy broth but I will say I did love the noodles and pork. I personally loved that it was not fish based and the noodles had a good texture. They have free water with cups in front of you also.I want to give it a five star but there were two reasons my first was the price, I felt it was a bit steep for what you were getting. Secondly it felt like it was missing something not exactly sure what. But i will say it was still a great bowl of ramen and I will definitely be back again.

When it comes to Ichiran I think the experience means a lot. You order via a machine and have a booth to yourself for your own enjoyment. You get to customize how you want your ramen and on top of that the ramen tastes great (as expected) with a reasonable price tag. I went during a weekday near dusk, didn't have to queue at all. I am a tourist and I'm amazed by the 9 to 12 toilet roll holders on the walls of the toilets. So satisfying to watch and a simple but fun way to make a toilet more interesting.

Been to a bunch of ramen places in Japan and they are all good but I enjoy the customization of the ramen here. I like a lot of flavor, spice and richness so on this ramen I just circle everything on right hand side on the order sheet :P

Always good, experience Japanese type fast food. They even have partitions between seats, meaning, eat n leave, don't chat here. Taste is on the heavy, msg is quite strong you can tell, noodle texture is the best, you can choose from firm to soft in 5 levels. Go try if you have not yet!!

I'm from Canada, and I loved the ramen here. Lots of options available to customize your ramen, from the richness of the broth to the softness of the noodles. You eat in a little stall, with a tap that you can pour as much water for yourself as you like.
